Delrin Machining Capabilities
5th Axis part Milled from Delrin Plastic for laser optics industry. High cosmetic requirements, tight tolerances for press fit components, special finish callouts on cone to ensure non reflective surfaces.
Portland Precision Manufacturing Company is a leader in tight tolerance, high precision Delrin machining. Delrin is one of the more popular specialty plastics with which we work, and our proven machining capabilities enable us to create top quality parts that match even our customers’ most intricate designs.
Thanks to a state-of-the-art CNC machining equipment and a highly skilled staff, Portland Precision can deliver precision machined Delrin parts with tolerances of ±0.0005” or better—no part design is too simple or complex. Whether you need prototype parts or high-volume production runs with quantities in the tens of thousands or more, our Delrin machining services are the ideal solution.
Machining with Delrin
Delrin is a versatile homopolymer variant of polyoxymethylene (POM) that exhibits high strength, high hardness, a low coefficient of friction, and outstanding dimensional stability. Also known as acetal, polyacetal, and polyformaldehyde, this engineering thermoplastic is commonly used to produce products as diverse as gear wheels, ball bearings, fasteners, ski bindings, and eyeglass frames. Delrin is especially popular in automotive and electronics industries.
Beneficial Properties of Delrin
